The Almaciga Resin is hard, crystalline and aromatic, coming from the province of Palawan. Also known as Manila Copal, the Almaciga tree (Agathis philippinensis) is native to the Philippines existing for more than 200 million years, and its resin is harvested by hand for use in varnishes and other similar applications. Traditionally, its used as fire starter, caulking for boats, smudge for mosquitoes and incense for religious ceremonies.
